Board Design

Circuit Design

Increasing processor and interface clock speeds, combined with mixed analog and digital requirements make today’s circuit designs more challenging than ever and this trend is expected to continue. It is no longer adequate to simply place devices conveniently on a board and allow a router to connect them. Datatek is experienced in implementing analog and digital circuit designs on printed circuit boards using industry leading tools and applying strong fundamentals in electrical design.

Design Methodology

Datatek’s approach to Electronic Circuit Design comes from years of experience in the Bell system at a time when high reliability was paramount. This experience helped Datatek develop a system that combines industry leading software tools with in house developed tools and processes to insure customer satisfaction the first time. Our facility includes a fully equipped development and testing lab replete with the latest high-speed logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers and fiber test equipment.

Our Board Design Process includes:

Design Checklist
Peer Review (Software/Hardware)
Testbench Development
System, Circuit, and Chip level
simulation.
Spice simulation where applicable.
Signal Integrity verification in the lab.
System Test matrix development
and requirements verification.
Documentation Review.

Tools:

OrCAD
PADS PowerPCB
ModelSim
SPICE
Quartus II
Xilinx ISE
Mentor Graphics HyperLynx®

Our designs include SONET, PCI 64/66, DSP for Medical and Industrial applications, flight ready military, and high-speed memory and serial interface circuits. Datatek has met these challenges while meeting the additional constraints of lower power and Agency compliance on products from handheld battery powered devices to large multi-bay telecommunications systems.
