Do
you want to retire your remaining BNS/Datakit II VCS nodes but are afraid
to do so because of connected hosts running legacy applications using CommKit
or IP-CommKit? Is there support or source code for your legacy applications?
The solution to all these problems is here today: the DT-7000 from Datatek
Applications. |
THE DT-7000 SOLUTION
The DT-7000 replaces BNS node functionality and allows the
completion of the migration process from a BNS network to an all- IP network.
The transition is transparent to the resident legacy application(s) on hosts
running CommKit or IP-CommKit and to other endpoints. |

WHAT
IS A DT-7000?
The DT-7000 is an
evolutionary design. It replaces the following BNS nodal functions:
Communication with an
IP-CommKit connected host
The
node backplane
The
node controller
A
node’s interface to
non-CommKit/non-IP
CommKit
IP endpoints
The DT-7000 enables
host communication on an IP network with up to sixty-four other IP-CommKit
hosts, each connected to its own DT-7000 via an IP network and with over
five hundred IP endpoints. IP endpoints may include a BNS network and
its associated endpoints. |

MIGRATION
STRATEGY
In order to use a DT-7000, any copy of CommKit currently
in use on the host must be replaced with IP-CommKit. No changes to host
application software are required, so the conversion to IP-CommKit is transparent.
The host is then connected via IP to a DT-7000. The DT-7000 communicates
with other endpoints in an IP network without being connected to a BNS network,
with the application functionality remaining unchanged.
