The DT-4280 provides all the functionality you would expect in a full-scale Intelligent Network Processor and has twice the port density as the DT-4180, with 32 Serial User Ports.

INTEGRATED ACCESS DEVICE

The DT-4280 can be viewed as an Internet Protocol (IP) Access Device. It directly mediates any of its supported protocols (Async, HDLC, SDLC, X.25, BX.25, E2A, Bisync) and the IP protocol suite (IP, TCP, UDP, RTP, Telnet, ARP, SNMP, etc.).

DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS

The DT-4280 provides detailed network management statistics, including traffic statistics, counts of messages transmitted and received, and many more. Remote echo and route tracing diagnostics help network managers isolate faults and refine network measurements.The DT-4280 also supports and provides the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the current standard for network management

NETWORK SECURITY

The DT-4280 provides an administrative login password with optional timeout for automatic console logoff as well as a configurable security banner displayed at each administrator’s login.With its Closed User Group (CUG) membership and calling security feature, the DT-4280 can restrict access between DT-4280 ports and domains or individual endpoints in the IP network.

SPECIALIZED ENHANCED VERTICAL SERVICES

The DT-4280 also functions as a Network Application Processor that applies customer specific application processing and protocol operations of network-connected devices.The resident X.25 (and X.25 variants) application provides a greater degree of mediation by allowing the DT-4280 to directly mediate X.25 logical channels and sessions to individual connections overTCP/IP.
